(Senior) Manager Financiële Instrumenten en Accounting - PwC

Locatie: Amsterdam
As a Financial Instruments and Accounting manager/senior manager, you will be responsible for advising clients in the area of reporting and valuing of financial instruments and supporting PwC audit teams in verifying treasury activities and financial instrument positions in the balance sheet.

Job Description & Summary
All businesses have financial instruments in their balance sheets. Take, for example, loans, equity instruments and derivatives. The complexity of financial instruments and the associated reporting and valuing rules can be significant. As a Financial Instruments and Accounting manager/senior manager, you will assist clients and PwC audit teams in solving issues in these areas. You will perform this task alternately as an accountant and advisor. You will be co-responsible for leading a team of 31 specialists and will assist in expanding our advisory proposition. You will have the time and opportunity to transform yourself from a general accountant into a financial instruments specialist.

You are a passionate accountant ready to take the next step in your career. While you don’t wish to abandon the auditor’s report entirely, you would like to learn more about the reporting and valuing of financial instruments. In the area of personal development, you would like to further hone your consultancy skills and devote more time to developing relationships, impacting clients and colleagues and acting as a team manager who inspires themselves and others to pursue their maximum potential.

You hold a university degree in a financial-economic discipline (a completed RA study programme or similar is preferable).

  • You would like to deepen your knowledge of reporting for financial instruments (IAS 39, IFRS 9, RJ 290.);
  • You have 5 to 9 years’ relevant experience as an accountant, including a clear affinity with financial reporting and corporate finance or valuations;
  • You enjoy balancing a variety of engagements for various clients, both existing and new;
  • You have a decisive and resolute personality and are able to communicate clearly and impactful;
  • You are a team player who believes in the importance of coaching and strives to create a good working atmosphere (you have a good sense of humour);
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset that allows you to contribute towards the expansion of our services while working in a team;
  • You have a good command of Dutch and English (both spoken and written).

As a Financial Instruments and Accounting manager/senior manager, you will be responsible for advising clients in the area of reporting and valuing of financial instruments and supporting PwC audit teams in verifying treasury activities and financial instrument positions in the balance sheet. Together with the team of 44 professionals and a partner, you will be responsible for the entire project, from the initial contact with the client through to the evaluation of the engagement. You will act as the sparring partner of your clients (both internal PwC clients and external clients) and will work on developing your relationships with them in order to safeguard and raise the client expectations of our service provision. Furthermore, deepening your knowledge of specialist aspects is an important part of this position. Such knowledge includes, for example, the reporting of financial instruments under Dutch GAAP and IFRS rules, audit standards and valuation techniques of financial instruments.

You will supervise and coach your team members and ensure that they are able to continue developing both professionally and personally. You will invest in your further professional development as you work your way to becoming a full-fledged business adviser. You will help develop a relevant network at clients and prospects. Making effective use of PwC's network, you will be jointly responsible for acquiring new engagements at both new and existing PwC clients. Using publications and lectures, you will also be a strong representative of PwC.
