We are looking for an Investment Manager to join the team.
What the job involves
Horticoop is looking for an Investment Manager to support on the deal process end to end, from origination to completion ensuring growth to the portfolio. An energetic and ambitious individual willing to grow its own network and the market presence of Horticoop as investor in the domain of CEA. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, experienced investor with an affinity for invests in companies at various stages of maturity, from scale-ups to established companies.
The Investment Manager functions in a team with (initially) the Board of Directors (CEO, CFO and Director Investments) and a small team of other professionals from Horticoop.
You are:
- passionate and curious about start-/scale-ups, high potential mature companies and how new technologies can help accelerate impact and financial returns;
- familiar with DD, term sheets, cap tables, financing rounds, deal syndication, bridge financing and governance processes;
- a business builder who is entrepreneurial, driven and has the ability to work independently.
You have:
- 5+ years of experience in venture capital/private equity either as a sector generalist or within the CEA space would be highly desirable;
- a technical academic background would be advantageous, such as Engineering, Physics or Computer Science;
- detail-oriented, structured thinker with strong analytical skills;
- strong ability to build and maintain close relationships with multiple stakeholders;
- fundraising experience (pre);
- the ability to build trust, credibility and close relationships;
- experience in leading deal teams;
- experience with divestments;
- excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (both oral and written).
What are your responsibilities?
- leading deals and management of portfolio companies;
- managing relationships with co-investors;
- identifying and acquiring investment opportunities;
- leading all phases of a the investment/M&A process, including product-specific diligence, market analysis, modeling, due diligence, structuring, legal documentation, negotiation and investment proposal preparation;
- proactively collaborating with the portfolio companies to execute growth and operational improvement strategies;
- actively monitoring the investment portfolio, supporting follow-up investments and preparing exits;
- monitoring, researching and developing investment themes on emerging trends and disruptive companies in the CEA ecosystem.
